When you're considering buying Sky-Scapes® ceiling light diffusers, you may wonder about their longevity. Once you've fallen in love with the beauty of these panels, you don't want to have to worry about their life expectancy. You don't want your beautiful sky images to fade or wear out.
At Stratus Designs LLC, we are proud to inform you that our ceiling light diffusers have a very long life expectancy. This is true of both our economical and premium versions. Images on both versions are screen printed using fade-resistant inks. The life span of our economical diffusers is typically quite long. To test their longevity, we've placed a three-year-old diffuser alongside a brand-new panel. Amazingly, we noticed no real difference between the two. The three-year-old panel still looked like new! Keep in mind that this level of longevity was experienced thanks to the use of our color-corrected bulbs. The life span of our economical Sky-Scapes® panels will be shortened by using other types of bulbs with no protective bulb sleeves.
Our premium Sky-Scapes® panels are made from acrylic and are designed to last many years. Their life expectancy is estimated at about a decade. The acrylic version is always the best choice for locations in which lights are left on for 24 hours at a time. Whether you choose our economical or premium panels, the life expectancy of both types can be extended by simply using full-spectrum fluorescent lamps that have clear UV-protective tubes.
